Craibiodendron yunnanense W.W. Smith (1912: 159) View in CoL ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 )
Literature: — Handel-Mazzetti (1936: 790), Fang & Ming (1986: 585, Fig. 167, 6–8), Judd (1986: 453, Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 ), Hsu (1991: 41, Fig. 13), Kress et al. (2003: 215), Fang et al. (2005: 460, Fig. 648), Tang (2011: 641).
TYPE: — CHINA. Yunnan Province: vicinity of Yunnan-sen , E. E. Maire 1790 (lectotype, designated by Judd [1986: 454]: E: E00327742 photo!; image of lectotype: B: B101068094 photo!; isolectotype: IBSC: 0002407) .

Nomenclatural notes: —When selecting the lectotype of C. yunnanense, Judd (1986) indicated the presence of an isolectotype at E. Judd most likely referred to a remaining syntype E. E. Maire 2463 ( E00327743 photo!), which is not listed by Judd among the representative specimens. Both syntypes were collected from the same location.
Additional specimens examined:— VIETNAM. Lao Cai Province: Bat Xat District, Bat Xat Nature Reserve , 6 km SE of Y Ty village, near trail to Lao Than summit, disturbed forest, N 22°37’55’’ E 103°39’12’’, elev. 1830 m, 12 June 2019, M. Ecology and phenology: —Thickets and open rocky areas, temperate to warm-temperate forests, margins of coniferous forests; 1200–3200 m. Flowering from (May) June to August (October).
Distribution: —N Myanmar, China (Guangxi, Tibet, Yunnan), Vietnam (Lao Cai: Bat Xat Nature Reserve).
Craibiodendron yunnanense is reported here from Vietnam for the first time. Hiep & Ho (1996), Ho (1999) and Hiep (2003) listed four species of Craibiodendron known in Vietnam. With our finding, Vietnam appears to be the only country inhabited by all five species of the genus (although the records of C. henryi W.W. Smith [1912: 158] seem doubtful to us).
