4. Crotalaria annamensis Phon (1981: 111) View in CoL . Type :— VIETNAM. Ninh Hoa : Phu Khanh, Poilane 6286 (holotype P02297494 !).

Herb, erect, to 30 cm high; young branches terete, brown pubescent. Leaves simple. Stipules caducous. Petioles 0.3–1 mm long, brown pubescent. Lamina oblong, 0.5–2 × 0.2–0.4 cm, base rounded or obtuse, apex rounded or obtuse, margin entire, glabrous upper, brown pubescent lower; lateral veins inconspicuous. Inflorescences terminal, with 2–5 flowers in capitate racemes, ca. 2 cm long; peduncle 5–6 mm long, brown pubescent. Bracts narrowly linear, 1.8– 1 mm long, caducous. Pedicels 1.8–2 mm long, brown pubescent. Bracteoles inserted on the pedicel, narrowly linear, 2–2.2 mm long, persistent. Calyx 6–7 mm long, campanulate, bilabiate; tube 3–3.5 mm long; lobes triangular, 3–4 mm long, glabrous inside, brown pubescent outside. Corolla yellow. Standard: claw 1–1.5 mm long, white tomentose above at the apex and along the margin, glabrous below; blade obovate, 5–5.5 × 3–3.2 mm, base obtuse, apex obtuse or acute, margin glabrous. Wings: claw 0.3–0.4 mm long, glabrous; blade oblong, 4–4.2 × 1.8–2 mm, base cuneate, apex acute or obtuse, margin glabrous. Keel: claw 0.2–0.3 mm long, glabrous; blade lanceolate, 5.5–6 × 2–2.2 mm, beak spirally twisted, base cuneate, apex attenuate, margin white pubescent distally. Stamens not seen. Ovary sessile, oblong, ca. 2 mm long, glabrous; style ca. 4 mm long. Pods sessile, oblong, 0.8–0.9 × 0.2–0.3 cm, brown-black, glabrous. Seeds not seen.

Distribution: —Asia ( Vietnam), known only from the type. ( Figure 4 View FIGURE 4 ).

Ecology: —Elevation ca. 12 m.

Notes: — Crotalaria annamensis is distinguished by having cuneate base of the wings and a lanceolate keel and the standard claw which has white tomentose above.
