Comments. Both the male holotype of Cyphomyia lanuginosa Gerstaecker, 1857 ( Figs 10–12 View FIGURES 10–16 ), housed in the ZMHB collection, currently synonymized with C. gracilicornis Gerstaercker, 1857 (syntypes not examined), and the syntypes of C. imitans Curran, 1925 ( Figs 14–16 View FIGURES 10–16 ), deposited at the CUIC collection, are conspecific, as the three species have tufts of golden setae over thorax, basal half of wing with veins markedly brown and apical half more yellowish (less brownish or yellowish over the wing membrane), and all tarsomeres whitish. Therefore, we are synonymizing C. imitans with C. gracilicornis .
