Daternomina ikathan sp. nov.
Figs 46–48 View FIGURES 46–51
Diagnosis. Daternomina ikathan resembles D. scissura and D. bifida in the general shape of the inferior appendages in ventral view, but differs in the following fine detail: the inferior appendages are slightly longer than the superior appendages; in ventral view, the length of the inferior appendages is greater than the width; the meso-distal split separates distal three-fifths; and the phallus has a robust pair of processes situated dorsolaterally.
Description. Head, body and wings light brown; wings similar to D. irrorata ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1–6 ) except fork 2 nygma absent. Forewing length about 3.1–3.2 times width: male 3.6–3.7 mm. Forewing fork 2 relatively long, with short footstalk, footstalk about 0.2–1.2 times length cross-vein r-m, length fork 2 about 1.2–1.3 times length of fork 3; fork 3 relatively long, sessile or with short footstalk, fork 3 greater than 5 times length footstalk, footstalk between 0–1.0 times length cross-vein m; r-m and m separated at fork 3 by about 1.6–2.0 times length of cross-vein m; fork 4 shorter than fork 3; fork 5 long, about 1.8 times length of fork 4. Hindwing length about 3.2 times width, fork 2 with short footstalk, footstalk about 0.5–0.7 times length cross-vein r-m, fork 2 about 1.3–1.4 times length of fork 3.
Male. Tergum X membranous, short with a mesal V-shaped notch ( Fig. 48 View FIGURES 46–51 ). Superior appendages laterally compressed; in lateral view robust, length about 2.3 times width, dilated slightly near middle ( Fig. 46 View FIGURES 46–51 ); in dorsal view, relatively slender, length about 3.5 times width, with a small mesal projection in basal half, and a row of spine-like setae on inner surface ( Fig. 48 View FIGURES 46–51 ). Phallus tube-like, with pairs of apical, ventral and lateral spines, and a pair of robust processes dorso-laterally; with a single, down curved process (phallic guide) arising from near the base of the inferior appendages ( Fig 46 View FIGURES 46–51 ). Inferior appendages robust, large, slightly longer than superior appendages, strongly dorso-ventrally flattened; in ventral view, length about 1.2 times width, fused in basal third forming a single plate, distal three-fifths separated narrowly by a deep mesal split, with pair of rounded apices ( Fig. 47 View FIGURES 46–51 ); in lateral view robust, length about 3 times width, broadest basally, tapered gradually distally ( Fig. 46 View FIGURES 46–51 ).
