p. 82 ( Desmoris ) LeConte, 1876. The gender of this name is F<M>. From LeConte’s discussion, it is obvious that the etymology is based on the Greek words desmós (tie or constriction) and rhís (nose, referring to the rostrum), incorrectly latinised as ris (but correctly rendered in the tribal name based on this genus, Desmorhines). Since the Greek word rhis is feminine, LeConte’s original use as masculine is faulty and must be corrected (Art. 30.1.1).
p. 86 (1) Heterochyromera Kojima & Morimoto, 1996 . The authorship of the synonym Heterochyromera: Morimoto & Kojima should be reversed, to read “Kojima & Morimoto”.
P. 86 (2) Menecopes Faust, 1896b . The authorship of the synonym Menecops: Morimoto & Kojima should be reversed, to read “Kojima & Morimoto”, and the date of publication changed from 1995 to 1995c.
p. 89 Baris Germar, 1817 . The publication date of the synonym Barridius: Hummel, 1827 should be changed to 1829.
p. 95 Codmius Faust, 1895 e should be moved from Baridinae Madarini Tonesiina to Conoderinae Campyloscelini Corynemerina, and placed on p. 109 before Corynemerus Fåhraeus, 1871 .
p. 104 (1) Ceutorhynchus Germar, 1824 (entry begins on p. 103). The publication date of the synonym Ceuthorrhynchos: Frivaldszky, 1893 should be changed to 1894.
p. 104 (2) Ethelcus Reitter, 1916 . The publication date of the synonym Ethlecus: Hoffmann 1954b should be changed to 1955.
p. 108 (1) Pelenomus C. G. Thomson, 1859 . The publication date of the synonym Paleonomus: Hoffmann, 1954b should be changed to 1955.
p. 108 (2) Homorosoma Frivaldszky, 1894 . The original genus of the type species should to be corrected to “ Ceuthorrhynchos ”.
p. 108 (3) Rutidosoma Stephens, 1831 . The publication date of the synonym Rhydidosoma: Hoffmann, 1954b should be changed to 1955.
p. 109 (1) Cnemoxys Marshall, 1956 should have added, as a junior synonym,
= Lavabrenymus Hoffmann, 1966 .
Although Marshall did not mention the peculiar male procoxal apophyses, the male specimens of his species C. maynei Marshall, 1956 do have these structures. Hoffmann’s species Lavabrenymus armatus Hoffmann, 1966 also possess structures of a very similar kind, and we here propose the New Synonymy Cnemoxys Marshall, 1956
= Lavabrenymus Hoffmann, 1966 , and the New Combination Cnemoxys armatus (Hoffmann, 1966) .
p. 109 (2). Lavabrenymus Hoffmann, 1966 should be placed in synonymy with Cnemoxys Marshall, 1956 , q.v.
p. 109 (3) Before Corynemerus Fåhraeus, 1871 , the following genus should be added: Codmius Faust, 1895 e, moved from Baridinae on p. 95.
p. 117 Allopentarthrum Kuschel, 1986 . The publication date of the synonym Allopentarthrum: Voss, 1936f should be changed to 1936d.
p. 118 Echinomorphus Fauvel, 1906 . The publication date of the synonym Echinoderes: Hoffmann, 1954b should be changed to 1955.
p. 119 Pselactus Broun, 1886 . The publication date of the synonym Pselachus: Hoffmann, 1954b should be changed to 1955.
p. 122 Neohexarthrum Hoffmann, 1954b . The publication date should be changed to 1955.
p. 135 Mechistocerus Fauvel, 1863 159. The citation date and page number should be changed to 186242.
p. 143 (1) GRONOPINA Bedel, 1884. The publication date of the synonym Gronopsini: Hoffmann, 1954b should be changed to 1955.
p. 143 (2) Depresseremiarhinus Pic, 1914 should be moved before Gronops Schoenherr, 1823 to maintain the alphabetic order of genera.
p. 144 Haversiella Schweiger, 1958 . The publication date should be changed to 1959.
p. 145 Entimus Germar, 1817 (entry begins on p. 144). The authorship of the synonym Curculio Gistl, 1848 134 should be changed to Gistel.
p. 150 Cratopini Hustache, 1919 is based on the genus name Cratopus Schoenherr, 1823 . We overlooked that the last element of the generic name is formed from the Greek word pous (foot), whose genitive is podos. Consequently, the stem is Cratopod and the correct tribal name, according to Art. 29.3.1 of the Code, is Cratopodini .
p. 167 Kocheriana Hoffmann, 1952 . The publication date of the genus should be changed to 1953b and that of its type species to 1953.
p. 168 The synonyms Panaphilis Dejean, 1821 and its misspelling Panaphilus Ersch & Gruber, 1838 , currently placed under ( Otiorhynchus ), should be deleted from here and transferred to p. 169, under (Thalycrynchus).
p. 169 (Thalycrynchus) Reitter, 1912. The genera Panaphilis Dejean, 1821 and Panaphilus Ersch & Gruber, 1838 should be moved from synonymy under ( Otiorhynchus ) on p. 168 and added as synonyms.
p. 170 Sciobius Schoenherr, 1823 . Swaziland and Lesotho should be added to the Distribution. The record from Angola is based on S. paivanus Wollaston , which is only questionably included in the genus.
p. 175 (1) ( Diachelus ) Desbrochers, 1902b. The publication date should be changed to 1902c, and the date of the type designation citation by subsequent monotypy to 1902d.
p. 175 (2) ( Eustolomorphus ) Desbrochers, 1902. The date of the type designation citation by subsequent monotypy should be changed to 1902b.

p. 175 (4) ( Rhinocoetus ) Desbrochers, 1902. The date of the type designation citation by subsequent monotypy should be changed to 1902b.
p. 176 Brachysomus Schoenherr, 1823 . The genus Pseudoptochus Formánek, 1905 , from p. 177, should be added as a junior synonym; we overlooked Yunakov’s (1998) synonymy.
p. 177 Pseudoptochus Formánek, 1905 should be deleted and transferred to p. 176 as a synonym of Brachysomus Schoenherr, 1823 .
p. 179 The subgenera Acercomecus , Gnathomecus and Hypesamus should be deleted from synonymy under Esamus Chevrolat, 1880 and transferred as subgenera under Megamecus Reitter, 1903 on the same page. We overlooked this transfer when we considered that Esamus and Megamecus were different genera.
p. 201 Gonzalezanthus AlonsoZarazaga & Lyal. The gender of this name is M; ‘F’ in the original is a misprint.
p. 211 Stenops: Dejean, 1835 . The author’s name of its synonym Orchamenus: Gistl, 1848XI should be changed to Gistel.
