Basionym:— Dinophora spenneroides subsp. montana Troupin (1982: 464) View in CoL

Type: — RWANDA. Western Province, Nyungwe National Park, Rangiro (Rutabanzogera), 1700 m, 8 May 1980, G . Troupin 16245 (holotype BR [ BR0000008953322 ]; isotype LG, K, NHR) .

Note:— Dinophora montana differs from D. spenneroides Bentham (1849: 355) ( Fig. 20 View FIGURE 20 ), known from Guinea to Ivory Coast, Nigeria to Western and Central D. R. Congo and Angola ( POWO 2023), in the erect and much larger habit, the papyraceous leaves that are wider than in D. spenneroides , the leaf base that is not or rarely cordate, and the white petals. It is a local endemic of Nyungwe National Park.
