Range: —Andes from Ecuador to Bolivia (BE, CO, LP, SC).

Ecology: —Fairly common; terrestrial in humid forests, on steep slopes and stream banks; 400–1700 m.

Notes: —The record by Smith et al. (1999) of Diplazium lonchophyllum Kunze , based on Kessler 11695 (LPB, UC), has been re-identified as D. stuebelianum by us.
