Range: — Bolivia ( CH, CO, SC) to northwestern Argentina; central Argentinian mountains; southeastern Brazil to Uruguay.
Ecology: —Rare (known from four collections); saxicolous in deciduous forests, in dry, open, exposed sites, forming dense populations with abundant rhizomes and roots, and few living leaves; 1200–2000 m.
Notes: —Blades palmate with three pinnae. In Brazil, a form with five palmately arranged pinnae has been called Doryopteris triphylla var. pedatifida (Christ) Hassler , or Cassebeera pedatifolia Christ ; it should be looked for in Bolivia.
