Diagnosis: As provided by Høeg et al. (2020).

Comment: Monophyly rests on morphology alone because no species has been sampled for molecular analyses. The family shares several potential apomorphies with the Chthamalophilidae .

Host: Isopoda (including Epicaridea) and Cumacea.
