Ectoedemia hannoverella (Glitz, 1872) View in CoL
F: Ectoedemia hannoverella ; van Nieukerken 1985b: 31 — 06, 67; Leraut 2003: 20— 77 Material. 68: TM, Lapoutroie, La Bohle, 520 m, 21.x.2002, Populus canadensis , EvN; 83: 1♂, Massif de l'Estérel, Agay, 2.v.1989, GRL (Coll. J. Lucas).
Remarks. As in most autumn feeding Ectoedemia , the distribution of Ectoedemia hannoverella is still poorly known in France, although mines are easily collected in green islands in fallen leaves. It is possible that Ectoedemia hannoverella is expanding its range since there are no old records from most of western Europe, despite its conspicuous mines. It was recently found for the first time in England ( Prichard & Clifton 2004) and Sweden ( Svensson 1995). The oldest Dutch records are from 1978 (van Nieukerken 1982), although Belgian records go back to the early 1940s ( Dufrane 1943).
