( Figs. 19–30 View FIGURES 19 – 30 )

Type materials. Holotype. 3 ( NWAFU), China: Yunnan Province, Yaoqu, 13.vi.2009, coll. Wei Cui, light trap. Paratype. 1 3, same data as holotype.

Descriptions. Length. 3 4.7 mm.

General colour yellow. Vertex orange, with small hypodermal round spot medially at each side, coronal suture brown. Eyes black. Face with frontoclypeus orange, anteclypeus and genae white. Pronotum mostly orange, anteriorly with medial semicircular milky patch and two irregular milky patches laterally behind eyes. Centre of scutellum with quadrate milky patch anteriorly and big patch caudad of scutoscutellar sulcus. Forewing semi-transparent, brochosome field whitish, hindwing greyish white. Abdomen and legs yellowish white.

Body robust ( Fig. 38 View FIGURES 35 – 38 ). Head narrower and distinctly shorter than pronotum ( Fig. 35 View FIGURES 35 – 38 ). Vertex short and broad, rounded anteriorly, in dorsal view distinctly narrower than width between eyes, anterior and posterior margins parallel, coronal suture distinct, surpassing half of vertex length ( Fig. 35 View FIGURES 35 – 38 ). Face short, convex in lateral aspect ( Fig. 37 View FIGURES 35 – 38 ), lateral frontal suture distinct ( Fig. 36 View FIGURES 35 – 38 ), vertex in profile rounded to face ( Fig. 37 View FIGURES 35 – 38 ). Pronotum large, more than 2.0 times longer than vertex in midline ( Fig. 35 View FIGURES 35 – 38 ). Forewing narrow, rounded apically, veins RP and MP’ separate at bases, 2nd apical cell broadening towards apex ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 19 – 30 ).

Basal sternal abdominal apodemes parallel-sided, reaching end of segment IV ( Fig. 30 View FIGURES 19 – 30 ). Male pygofer elongate, apical 2/5 strongly narrowing caudad, with 6–7 rigid microsetae on each side of lobe ( Figs. 21, 23 View FIGURES 19 – 30 ); ventral appendage short, pygofer with 11–12 rigid microsetae at the lower margin level with apex of appendage ( Figs. 21, 23 View FIGURES 19 – 30 ); dorsal bridge short, less than third of total length of pygofer, caudo-dorsally curved medially ( Fig. 22 View FIGURES 19 – 30 ). Subgenital plate longer than pygofer side, broadest subbasally and narrowing apicad, curved dorsad in apical half, with 14–15 lateral macrosetae, numerous marginal microsetae on almost whole dorsal margin of plate and several fine microsetae arranged in 1–2 rows, apical part of plate infuscated ( Figs. 21, 25 View FIGURES 19 – 30 ). Paramere sinuate apically, subapex bearing 6 teeth preceded by 10–11 long fine microsetae ( Fig. 29 View FIGURES 19 – 30 ). Connective lamellate, apical margin notched medially ( Fig. 28 View FIGURES 19 – 30 ). Aedeagus with preatrium and dorsal apodeme undeveloped, shaft tubular, in profile broadest at base and strongly narrowing apicad, shaft curved caudo-dorsad from basal 2/5, apical half of shaft with margins nearly parallel in lateral aspect, gonopore ventrad near apex ( Fig. 26 View FIGURES 19 – 30 ), shaft in ventral view with irregular teeth subapically on both sides ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 19 – 30 ). Anal tube process surpassing half height of pygofer, narrowing and curved caudad apically ( Figs. 21, 24 View FIGURES 19 – 30 ).

Remarks. E. (O.) dianella can be distinguished from other species of this subgenus by the anal tube appendage which is curved caudad apically.

Etymology. The species name is formed from “ dian ” (abbreviation of Yunnan), with the diminutive suffix – ella, referring to the type locality of the new species.

Distribution. At present known only from the type locality in southern China (Yunnan Province).
