Type:— CHINA. Qinghai: Near border between Gansu and Qinghai, Tetung-gol ( Datong River ), 13–25 July 1872, Przewaldski 268 ( LE) .
Distribution: —S Hengduan, N Hengduan.
Note: — Epilobium subcoriaceum is similar to E. wallichianum , but differs from that species in having scales and short pedicels. Chen et al. (1992) noted that the “ holotype ” of E. subcoriaceum is deposited in LE. However, according to Art. 9.1, we are not sure the type status of this specimen. So, we leave this issue open for further study.
