Eremus lincangensis sp. nov. Chinese name: (Êffiflḏä)
( Figure 1 View FIGURE 1 )
Male. Body medium, stout. Fastigium verticis about 1.6 times as wide as scape ( Figure 1A View FIGURE 1 ). Eyes longer than the length of scape; ocellus indistinct. Face with impressed dots. Anterior margin of pronotum slightly projected in the middle, posterior margin slightly concave in middle ( Figure 1B – C View FIGURE 1 ). Fore coxae with a spinule. Ventral margins of the fore and middle tibiae with 5 pairs of spines, including one pair of smaller apical spines. Ventral margins of hind femora with 6-9 internal and 11 external spines, and the external spines obviously longer than the internal spines; dorsal margin of hind tibiae with 4-5 external and 6 internal spines; apices with 1 pair of dorsal spines and 2 pairs of ventral spines. Wings reduced to minute pads not reaching hind margin of corresponding notum ( Figure 1D View FIGURE 1 ). Abdominal tergites second and third each with two rows of very small stridulatory pegs. Ninth abdominal tergite nearly globular projected, the central split longitudinally into two lobes, the basal area enlarged, and the lateral margin of the apical area with a pair of spine-like processes, crossed and pointing ventrad and inwards, apices sharp ( Figure 1E – F View FIGURE 1 ). Cerci slender and subconical. Basal area of subgenital plate wider and the two-thirds of apical section gradually narrowing, posterior margin with triangular concave, the lateral lobe triangular ( Figure 1G View FIGURE 1 ); styli inserted laterally of one third the base of the lateral margin of subgenital plate, conical, apices obtuse ( Figure 1G View FIGURE 1 ).
Female. Unknown
Coloration. Body yellowish brown. Face and genae black. Eyes brownish. Pronotum with light brown spots. Apices of hind femora and apices of hind tibiae black, spines of hind femora black. Spines of male ninth abdominal tergites black.
Measurements (mm). Body: ³ 16.91; Pronotum: ³ 3.77; Tegmina: ³ 0.65; hind femora: ³ 8.70.
Material examined. Holotype (Collection Number: D20170816): male, Nangunhe National Nature Reserve , Wengding Village Mengjiao Town , Cangyuan Country, Lincang Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China. Alt. 1790 m (23°16′39.1″N, 99°11′21.4″N), 16 August, 2017, coll. by Zizhong Yang etc . Paratype: 1 male, Mohan, Mengla, Yunnan, 8 August , 2018, coll. by Lin Li .
Distribution. China (Yunnan).
Etymology. Named after the type locality.
Discussion. This species appears closely related to Eremus (?) decolyi Bolívar, 1900 based on: ninth abdominal tergite globular with medial furrow; before posterior-ventral margin swollen on both sides of midline; swellings prolonged at ventral margin into a rather long, compressed, acute process. The new species differs from the latter in: basal area of the subgenital plate wider and the apical area gradually narrowing, posterior margin with triangular concave in the middle, lateral lobe triangular. In the male of Eremus (?) decolyi, subgenital plate has nearly truncate posterior margin.
