EOO: 89,602.725 km ². AOO: 56 km ². Evaluation of IUCN: Least concern.

Eugenia laevis is distributed from the Peninsula of Yucatán in Mexico to Guatemala and the Antilles ( WCSP 2020). The estimated extent of occurrence (EOO) exceeds the thresholds for a threatened category under the criterion B. The area of occupancy (AOO) would likely exceed the thresholds of any threatened category when the remaining habitat available is taken in account. The biome where it occurs is the Humid Tropical Forest from 0 to 300 m elev. There are more than 10 known locations based on 16 records, and all of them have different ongoing threats. This species is distributed in the tropical rainforests on low soils in Mexico and Guatemala and can be found within protected areas such as the Maya Biosphere Reserve ( Guatemala) and in vegetations with low levels of anthropic disturbance in Mexico. According to the recent assessment by the BGCI & IUCN (2019g), E. laevis is classified as Least Concern (LC).
