sp. nov.

Eupolyphaga nigrifera sp. nov.

( Figs. 10 View FIGURE 10 C–D; 15 D–F; 32 A–D)

Type material. Holotype: CHINA: Yunnan: male (IZCAS), Baihuashanzhuang [百花山庄], Luomian Township [罗免乡], Fumin County [富民县], Kunming City , 2519m, 27.V.2012, Ye Liu et al. leg.

Diagnosis. This species superficially resembles E. fengi sp. nov., but can be distinguished from the latter by: 1) the blackish body (while brown in E. fengi sp. nov.); 2) denser maculae on abdomen, and 3) R2 with smaller chunks. This species is also similar to E. nigrinotum sp. nov. by the dark coloration, but can be distinguished from the latter by: 1) the maculated abdomen ( Fig. 10 D View FIGURE 10 ); 2) the anterior margin of pronotum (the margin is dim and maculated, while clearly divided in E. nigrinotum sp. nov.), and 3) the shape of right corner in L2 (two processes closer, while two processes further in E. nigrinotum sp. nov.).

Description. Male. General: measurements (mm): body length: 17.2, overall length: 26.8, pronotum length×width: 4.3×7.2, tegmen length: 23.0. Body gracile, blackish brown, tegmina maculated ( Fig. 10 View FIGURE 10 C–D). Head: black, smooth. Interocular space moderate; ocelli ridge roundly curved. Antennae brownish black. Clypeus not distinct; ante-clypeus brownish yellow; post-clypeus black, with two small brownish yellow spots laterally. Labrum round, base and apex brownish yellow. Maxillary palpi and labial palpi dark brown, with joint parts yellow (Fig. 15 E–F). Pronotum: Anterior and lateral areas dark brownish yellow, dimly maculated, the rest part dark brown. Surface well setose. Transverse, flat, apex truncated, lateral fore borders round, lateral parts slightly rectangular (Fig. 15 D). Tegmina and wings: Exceeded the end of abdomen about 8.1 mm. Tegmina slender, yellowish, hyaline, densely with finely-divided dark brown speckles. Wings with M, CuP and anal areas completely transparent, venation distinct, the rest part densely covered with many small spots. Legs: generally dark brown, slightly pubescent, coxa with distal portion brownish yellow, trochanter dark brown but slightly yellowish, femur with apex slightly yellowish; tibial spines dark brown, apex reddish brown. Abdomen: weakly pubescent; brownish yellow, densely with dark brown plaques, median generally with a longitudinal line free from the plaques. Supra-anal plate protruded, apex with a very small emargination, anterior margin and paraprocts well pubescent; two median sclerites of the holotype missing; cerci dark brown, slender ( Fig. 32 A View FIGURE 32 ). Subgenital plate dark brown, with some yellowish irregular maculae, right part slightly larger than the left, and darker than the rest part, hind margin densely setose, slightly concave; styli small, brown, right one shorter but thicker than the left one ( Fig. 32 B View FIGURE 32 ). Genitalia: well sclerotized. Left phallomere: small. L1 short, anterior protruded, left with a small process, two hind lobes elongated; L2 short, curved sharply, right with two distinct processes; L3 thin, straight, the hook curved roundly; pda and paa elongate; L8 small. Right phallomere: large. R1M dark brown, long, membrane and hyaline posteriorly; R3 brown, wide; R2 with three chunks ( Fig. 32 View FIGURE 32 C–D).
