Type material. Holotype, male, ‘ Colombia: “ Bogota ”‘ ( MNHN).
Diagnosis. Close to F. longehumeralis , differs in almost whole body dark brown (except testaceous spots in posterior 1/6 of elytra), and in male genitalia with broad terminal enlargement.
Description. Body dark brown to black, only 2 spots in posterior 1/6 of elytra testaceous ( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 1 – 6 ), whole maxillary palpi and labial palpi dark brown. Eyes medium-sized, distance between eyes 1.5x longer than maximal eye diameter. Antennae with antennomere 3 slightly longer than 4 ( Fig. 33 View FIGURES 31 – 41 ). Pronotum ( Fig. 21 View FIGURES 16 – 30 ) 1.3x wider than long. Elytra slender, 3.8x longer than wide in humeral portion, widest in distal third, 1.6x wider distally than humeral width. Male genitalia broad distally ( Fig. 48–50 View FIGURES 42 – 53 ), terminal circular enlargement of phallus 1.1x wider than parameres width in distal third. Body length: 6.4 mm, humeral width: 1.4 mm.
Etymology. The holotype bears Pic´s label with the name Melanopteron which has never been published. Therefore, the name is used as species name.
Remark. Holotype with left antennomeres 9–11 and right antennomeres 7–11 missing.
