Diagnosis. The species is similar to F. verticosa Meyrick , but it can be distinguished by the absence of the brownish oblique fascia below the discal cell and beyond two thirds of the forewing. The male genitalia are also distinguished by having the median process on the ventral margin of the valva and the median lobe of the juxta. The female is known for the first time.
Adult ( Fig. 12 View FIGURES 2 – 15 , non-type in USNM). Wingspan, 18.0–21.0 mm.

Female genitalia ( Fig. 62 View FIGURES 62 – 66 ). The female genitalia are illustrated for the first time since the species was described. Apophysis anterioris about 3/5 length of apophysis posterioris. Caudal margin of 8th sternite emarginate medially. Antrum long, cupshaped, as long as 2/5 length of ductus bursae + corpus bursae. Ductus bursae membranous, wrinkled, with heavily sclerotized plates, as long as corpus bursae. Corpus bursae semiovate; sigum a short, heavily sclerotized conical spine.
Material examined. 1♂ (lectotype), Maskeliya, Pole. 7 [19]04, gen. prep. No. BM-8666 and 11 additional specimens are in the BMNH. 3♂, 4Ψ, NE Dist., Kanda-ela Res. 5.6 mls, SW Nuwara Eliy 6200 ft, 10–21 II 1976; 1♂, Moon Plains 1635 ft, 18 VIII 1973; 1♂, Lovers Leap Creek, 7000 ft, 15 III 1973; 1♂, Maskeliya, Pole, 7 V 1976. All above specimens are in the USNM.
