G. subsect. Mediterranea: mericarps were 3.5–5.0 × 2–2.5 mm; brown; fruit length 23-37mm; surface smooth, ornamentation reticulate with glandular and non-glandular macro hairs and also non-glandular short and medium hairs.
G. subsect. Tuberosa : mericarps were 3.2–4.5 × 1.2–2.4 mm; yellowish-green; fruit length 18-25mm; surface smooth, ornamentation foveate with glandular short hairs or non-glandular short and medium hairs.
