Diagnosis. This species is similar to G. monticola Kuznetzov , but can be distinguished by darker grey forewing; in the male genitalia by uncus having straight end and vesica with four (arranged in two pairs) non-deciduous spinous cornuti; in the female genitalia by the sterigma which is represented by a wide oblong sclerite, and having the anterior and posterior edge each with a prominence, the four angles are blunt, ductus bursae is longer than the corpus bursae, the corpus bursae is pear-shaped. In G. monticola the forewing is light grey; in the male genitalia the uncus is blunt and round apically and the vesica has two or more (not arranged in pairs) non-deciduous cornuti apically; in the female genitalia the median part and two posterior angles of the sterigma are protuberant, ductus bursae is shorter than the corpus bursae, and the corpus bursae is large and globular.

This species is also similar to G. clavata Zhang in appearance, but can be separated by the uncus having straight end, the saccular angle is obtuse and the vesica has four (arranged in two pairs, one pair longer than the other) nondeciduous spinous cornuti. In the latter species the uncus is blunt and round apically, the saccular angle is blunt and non-deciduous cornuti are absent.

Description. Adult ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1–3 ). Head: Vertex greyish brown; frons white. Antenna brown. Labial palpus greyish brown, inner side white; terminal segment slender, drooping. Thorax: Thorax and tegula greyish brown. Forewing length 7.5–8.0 mm. Forewing ground color dark grey, termen brown; costa with seven pairs of white strigulae from basal 1/4 to apex; basal patch brown, extending from costal 1/4 to 2/5 of dorsum, occupying about basal 1/4; median fascia dark grey, originating from between costal 1/4 and half, reaching 3/4 of dorsum, outer side darker; ocelloid patch large oval, slivery grey; a small triangular dark spot on dorsum between median fascia and tornus; cilia brown; underside of forewing dark grey. Hindwing and cilia grey; underside of hindwing grey. Foreleg brown, midleg and hindleg grey, with brown scales on tarsi. Abdomen: Male genitalia ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1–3 ). Uncus elongate club-shaped with truncate apex. Socii broad triangular, hairy. Valva broad at base, with neck as wide as 2/3 of base; saccular angle obtuse; cucullus oblong, bending inward, setose, with a slender process on the ventral angle bearing a short stout spine at apex. Phallus broad and short; vesica with numerous deciduous cornuti sockets and four (arranged in two pairs, one pair longer than the other) non-deciduous, spinous cornuti. Female genitalia ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1–3 ) with papilla analis narrow and long (dorsal part lost), with some little prominences setose. Apophysis posterioris as long as apophysis anterioris. Sterigma a wide oblong plate, with a prominence on the anterior edge and one on the posterior edge, four blunt angles. Ductus bursae longer than corpus bursae, colliculum a moderately wide sclerotized ring near ostium bursae. Ductus seminalis originating from colliculum. Corpus bursae pear-shaped, with two horned signa, equal in size.

Holotype ♂, CHINA: Muyangchang (32.97 ºN, 104.10 ºE), Wanglang National Natural Reserve , Sichuan Province, alt. 2577 m, 19 July 2017, leg. Qi M.J. & Yang X.F., genitalia slide no. ZAH19003 GoogleMaps . Paratype. 1♀, same data as holotype, genitalia slide no. ZAH19030 GoogleMaps .
