Description (female). Rostrum short, blunt. Interantennal lobes nearly obsolete, appear drooping with lower margin rounded to fading away. Accessory eye composed of 3 ommatidia, 2 appressed anteriorly and 1 separate more posteriorly.
Mouthparts. Maxilla 1 palp with 5 short blunt tri-cusped robust setae and single longer lateral, serrate seta; outer plate with row of 9 robust setae, most with small denticles. Mouthparts otherwise normal.
Antenna 1 as long as pereonites 1–6 combined along dorsum, peduncle article 2 about half as long as 1, article 3 about 4/5 length of 2, article 1 with single penicillate seta ventrally in posterior half and 2 mid dorsally; flagellum as long as peduncle, of 8+ articles, assessory flagellum of 3+ articles, both sparsely setose. Antenna 2 as long as pereonites 1–7 combined along dorsum, peduncular article 4 the longest, flagellum of 6+ articles, articles 1–4 with single slender robust seta distally, antenna otherwise sparsely setose.
Coxal plates 1–3 rounded apex, fringed with some simple setae and dense row of fine setules, plate 4 naked.
Gnathopods 1 and 2 basis with anterior and posterior simple setae of varying length, denser on pereopod 2; carpus on both with scattered setae on anterior margin, 8–9 groups of unequally long setae along posterior margin. Gnathopod 1 propodus with 5–6 slender pectinate setae on posterior margin.
Pereopods 3–4 normal. Pereopods 5–6 basis pear-shaped, broadest distally, with broadly rounded posterodistal projection, anterior margin with long setae proximally. Pereopod 7 basis ovate, broadest in middle, with row of long setae on medial surface, posterodistal lobe rounded angular.
Uropod 1 and 2 of subequal length, reaching to middle of uropod 3 outer ramus; peduncle of uropod 1 reaching to end of uropod 2 peduncle, rami of equal length, 2/3 length of peduncle, with 1 or 2 robust setae dorsally. Uropod 2 outer ramus about 4/5 length of inner ramus, both rami with 1 or 2 robust setae dorsally. Uropod 3 peduncle about 4/5 length of outer ramus, rami reaching beyond apex of telson with 1/3 telson length, outer ramus main article with 6 dorsal robust setae and row of small robust setae ventrolaterally, small second article with 3 dorsal robust setae; inner ramus reaching to end of basal article of outer ramus, dorsolateral margin with row of long setae and 2 robust setae distally.
Telson. Length/width 1.8; reaching 2/3 along inner ramus of uropod 3, with row of 2–3 robust setae, a few simple setae and doublet of finely plumose setae on each lobe, apices with 1 long and 1 short robust seta.
Male. As female except sexually diverse antennae. Antenna 1 as long as pereonite1–6 and half of 7 combined; assessory flagellum as long as flagellar articles 1 and 2 combined; antenna 2 as long as pereonite 1–pleonite 1 combined, flagellum of 5 articles. Dorsal projection on urosomite 3 longer and sharper than in female.
Size. Largest ♀, 6.2 mm. Largest ♂, 4.8 mm.
Distribution. Western Australia, Northwest Shelf; 39– 84 m. Northern Territory, Arafura Sea, 89 m.
