Gynapteromyia indica ( Grover, 1971) View in CoL comb. nov.
Chastomera indica View in CoL — Grover 1971: 4, pl. 1. Haplusia indica — Gagné 1978: 518.
Grover (1971) described male Chastomera indica View in CoL as having two-segmented palpi (pl. 1, fig. 1) and flagellomeres with multifurcate translucent sensilla (pl. 1, fig. 4), which are characters suggesting this species should belong to Gynapteromyia View in CoL . Her illustration of the genitalia ( Grover 1971: pl. 1, fig. 8) supports this view, but is imprecise regarding some diagnostically important structures, such as gonocoxites and tegmen. The flagellomere nodes in G. indica View in CoL were described as subglobose ( Grover 1971: pl. 1, fig. 4), a rather unusual condition in Gynapteromyia View in CoL that might help to recognize this species in the future.
