Comments.

The original description is insufficient to determine if this species belongs in Gryon or Hadronotus . Mineo (1991) assigned Gryon aureum to an eponymous species group but without explicitly stating if the holotype specimen of Plastogryon aureus was examined. The characters in the description of the Gryon aureum species group indicate that it belongs in Hadronotus and it is on this basis that we transfer it.
