Female body length = 1.50 mm (n = 1).
Colour. Head, mesosoma and metasoma black; all coxae brown-black, remainder of leg brown; clypeus and mandible red-brown except black-brown mandibular teeth; radicle yellow-brown; A1–A2 brown-black, A3–A6 paler than preceding antennomeres; A7–A12 black-brown.
Head. 1.5× as wide as high, 1.3× as high as long. IOS: 0.6× head width, 1.2× eye length. POL: LOL: OOL: 25.4: 13.8: 1.8. OOL: 0.7× MOD. Compound eye: ovate (L: W = 26.5: 20.0). Sculpture of orbital furrow: dorsally foveate, ventrally rugose. Inner orbits in frontal view: almost parallel to each other. Central keel on frons: present, extending 0.7× length of frontal depression. Malar sulcus: with rectangular rugose depressions. Shape of frontal depression: ovoid. L: W of frontal depression: 26.9: 23.2. Width of frontal depression: 0.7× IOS. Sculpture of frontal depression: transversely carinate, space between carinae smooth; in ventral 2/3 polygonal cells present on either side of transverse carinae. Submedian carina of frontal depression: restricted to dorsal half. AOD in dorsal view: 3.9× OOL. Sculpture of frons sans frontal depression: polygonal cells with rugose sculpture, setose. Sculpture of vertex: polygonal cells with rugose sculpture, setose. Hyperoccipital carina: present. Sculpture of gena: polygonal cells with rugose sculpture.
Mesosoma. L: W of mesoscutum: 23.4: 43.6. Sculpture of mesoscutum: polygonal cells with rugose sculpture, densely setose. Scutoscutellar sulcus: foveate. L: W of mesoscutellum: 16.3: 40.1. Sculpture of mesoscutellum: polygonal cells with rugose sculpture, setose posterolaterally. Posterior mesoscutellar sulcus: foveate. Sculpture of metascutellum: foveate, weakly bidentate. Posterior margin of metascutellum: bidentate. Sculpture of metanotal trough: foveate. Lateral propodeal area: laterally wide and narrowing centrad. Sculpture of lateral propodeal area: with depressions. Posterior propodeal projection: short, pointing posteriorly. Pronotal cervical sulcus: with depressions. Sculpture of lateral pronotal area: dorsally rugose, ventrally transversely carinate. Prespecular sulcus: foveate. Sculpture of speculum: transversely carinate, interspersed with sparse foveae. Femoral depression: with rectangular depressions. Episternal sulcus: foveate. Postacetabular sulcus: indicated with depressions. Mesepimeral sulcus: foveate. Sculpture of posterior mesepimeral area: a small narrow smooth area indicated dorsally. Mesopleural carina: absent. Mesopleural pit: present. Metapleural sulcus: with depressions. Sculpture of dorsal metapleural area: foveate, very sparsely setose. Sculpture of ventral metapleural area: with irregular foveae, sparsely setose. Paracoxal sulcus: with depressions. L: W of fore wing: 87.5: 35.9. Ratio of length of m: st: pm: 3.1: 9.1: 4.7. L: W of hind wing: 80.2: 21.4. Length of hind wing marginal cilia: 0.20× width of wing. Shape of submarginalis: straight, adjoining anterior margin of wing in basal half, and dips before reaching marginalis.
Metasoma. L: W of metasoma: 54.2: 45.8, 1.2 × as long as wide. Anterior margin of T1: weakly projecting medially and laterally. Basal foveae on T1: present. Sculpture of T1: longitudinally costate, space between costae rugose; posteromedially smooth. Sculpture of T2: anteriorly with narrow elongate cells with smooth areas; remainder irregularly areolate, interspersed with longitudinal carinae; basal foveae absent. Length of T2: 5× length of T3. Sculpture of T3–T4: anteriorly areolate and posteriorly smooth. Setation of metasoma: densely setose laterally and sparsely setose posteriorly.

Etymology
The species epithet is the name of the goddess ‘taraka’, consort of the Hindu god Brihaspati. The name is treated as a noun in apposition.
Diagnosis
Hadronotus taraka is similar to H. stupa sp. n. The distinguishing characters are given above under the latter species.
