Remarks. The morphology of H. bengalensis is very close to H. uthupus , however, both of these species can be distinguished based on the following characteristics; in H. bengalensis , (1) the rostrum is acutely pointed, (2) the exopod of the third pleopod of the male with four articles and the first two segments are subequal and (3) the exopod of the fourth and fifth pleopods of male with three articles; while in H. uthupus , (1) the rostrum is subacute and rounded at the apex, (2) the exopod of the third pleopod of the male with five articles and the first article is longer than the second article, and (3) the exopod of the fourth and fifth pleopods of male with two articles ( Panampunnayil 1997; Hanamura 1998).
