Heilus admixtus: Kuschel 1955:297 View in CoL (combination); Wibmer & O’Brien 1986:145 (checklist).

Type material. Heilipus admixtus Hustache, 1938 : we examined the images of a syntype ( Fig. 16 View FIGURE 16 ), bearing the following label “Amazon.; Coll. Pape; H. admixtus in.; ♀; Type; Museum Paris 1949, Coll. A. Hustache; SYNTYPE; SYNTYPE, Heilus admixtuxs ( Hustache, 1938) ; MNHN EC 9703”.

Diagnosis. Dark reddish integument, bright. Body covered with dark, sparse setae on pronotal disc, near elytral suture; with yellowish scales, surrounded by white scales forming clusters on sides of pronotum and elytra from interstria 4, irregular band of yellowish scales at apex of elytra, band of white and slightly dense scales anterior to prosternum; granules oblique, slightly elevated on pronotal disc, rounded on sides, moderately transverse granules not elevated in interstriae.

Geographical distribution. We did not examine any specimens of this species. This species is known only from the type locality, Amazonas , Brazil ( Wibmer & O’Brien 1986) .

Associated plants. Unknown.

Remarks. Heilus admixtus resembles H. tuberculosus by the pattern of scales on the prosternum and is distinguished from the other Heilus species by the shape of the elytra, flat in the middle, and by the wide range of scales covering the apex of the elytra.
