Hologaeus Ogueta, 1966b: 396. Type species: Panagaeus cruciger Say, 1823 by original designation. Etymology. From the Greek holo - (whole, entire) and agaios (admi rable, enviable), probably alluding to the overall beautiful coloration of the adults [masculine].
Diversity.
Western Hemisphere, with six species in the Nearctic (three species) and Neotropical (four species) Regions.
