[ Holotype: CASC; ♂ Riverside , California, USA; May 15, 1935]

Hoplitis reducta specializes on pollen from Cryptantha Lehm. ex G. Don ( Boraginaceae ) ( Fowler 2020). This species occurs in California, USA and BC, Mexico. We reviewed specimens collected in the Baja California Mountains in Sierra San Pedro Mártir in June 1958 (1 ♀; EMEC) and Sierra Juarez in May 1985 (1 ♀; SDNHM). See fig. 254 .
