Dolichomitus rufinus Lee & Choi sp. nov.

( Figs 21–29 View FIGURES 21 – 29 )

Description. (female, holotype).

Female. Fore wing 19.7 mm, body 30.4 mm, ovipositor sheath 38 mm long.

Color. Body black with fulvous. Pterostigma pale brown. Upper hind angle of pronotum reddish brown to black. Palpi and tegula yellow. Legs yellow orange; hind tibia and tarsus brown; metasoma red, first tergite red brown. Second and third tergites with black apical band ( Fig. 29 View FIGURES 21 – 29 ); fourth to sixth tergites with apicolateral corners black. Clypeus, antenna, and ovipositor sheath brown.

Head: Head roundly narrowed behind. Face 1.5 × as wide as high in frontal view, moderately coarse and dense punctured, distance between punctures almost 1–1.5 × as long as their diameter. Clypeus 2.0 × as wide as high. Mandibular teeth almost equal in length. Malar space 0.31 × as long as basal width of mandible. Frons concave and smooth in front half, with a few punctures behind frons. Diameter of lateral ocellus 0.5 × as long as shortest distance between lateral ocellus and eye. Occipital carina connected with hypostomal carina far from base of mandible. Antenna with 37 elongated flagellomeres and almost as long as head + mesosoma + tergite 1. First flagellomere 4.3 × as long as wide, flagellomeres before last enlarged, and last flagellomeres quadrate.

Mesosoma: Mesosoma covered with long silver hairs. Pronotum laterally punctured in upper half, smooth in the middle, striated and punctured in lower part. Epomia distinct. Mesoscutum sparsely punctate with strong notaulus ( Fig. 26 View FIGURES 21 – 29 ). Mesopleuron moderately dense and coarse punctured. Epicnemal carina not reaching front ridge of mesopleuron. Scutellum with more fine punctures. Propodeum coarse and dense punctured. Median longitudinal carinae developed to its middle. Propodeal spiracle 2.0 × as long as wide, closer to pleural carina, but not touching. Submetapleural carina present. Legs slender. Hind coxa 2.2 × as long as wide laterally, with coarse and dense punctures. Hind femur 6.6 × as long as maximal width. Hind tibia 16.2 × as long as apical width. Correlation between length of hind tarsal segments as 95:45:25:7:14. Fore wing with nervulus opposite to basal vein ( Fig. 28 View FIGURES 21 – 29 ), parallel vein connected to postnervulus a little below its middle. Areolet almost triangular. Nervellus reclival, intercepted in upper third. Hind wing with 14 distal hamuli.

Metasoma: First tergite 3.1 × as long as wide apically, transversally striated ( Fig. 29 View FIGURES 21 – 29 ). Second tergite 2.5 × as long as maximal width, densely punctate, and with weak transversal striation. Second tergite with oblique groove. Apex of second to fifth tergites with polished band. Dorsal lobe of lower valve of ovipositor tip with two well separated grooves.

Material examined. [ South Korea] (TD: YNU): Holotype: ♀, Mt. Taehwasan, Docheog-myeon, Gwangju-si, GG, Alt. 219m, 37°18′5.3″N 127°19′1.5″E, 9-24.vi.2007, J.O.Lim.

Distribution. South Korea.

Region. Eastern Palaearctic.

Host. Unknown.

Etymology. The specific name is derived from the body color.

Remarks. The species resembles D. curticornis ( Perkins, 1943) , D. imperator ( Kriechbaumer, 1854) , and D. pterelas ( Say, 1829) by the dorsal lobe of lower valve of ovipositor tip but differs by slender flagellomeres, metasomal tergite, legs, and red-colored metasoma.
