Types. Holotype ♂ and 1♂ paratype from MEXICO: Michoacán: 10 mi [16 km] S. Apatzingán, 2 Sep 1960, D.W. & C.H. Martin in USNM ( USNMENT 1353416 ). Types examined during this study.

Diagnosis. Easily separated from the congeners by the all dark brown mesonotal and pleural vestiture (some white or yellow hairs present in those areas in other species).

Other material examined. GUATEMALA: 5♂, El Salto, Esquintla, 1934, F.X. Williams ( BPBM) . MEXICO: Michoacán: 1♂, 2 mi [3.2 km] SE Tzitzio, 29 Jul 1962, N. Marston-30 ( USNM) .

Remarks. Previously known only from southern Mexico, the material from Guatemala recorded here extends the distribution further south in the Neotropics.

Distribution. Guatemala (new record), Mexico (Guerrero, Michoacán, Quintana Roo).
