Previous record in Bulgaria. Ježek (2004b) erroneously identified this species as Jungiella (Psychocha) ripicola (Bellier) , new for Bulgaria.

Distribution. Currently known to occur only in Bulgaria ( Wagner 2018; Wagner & Joost 1988).

Note. Both species J. ripicola and J. stranzica are closely similar and males not easily distinguished. Hypandrium of ripicola has two tubercles in the middle from dorsal view and corniculi on both sides of the head as inconspicuous swellings in contrast to stranzica with stripe-shaped hypandrium and conspicuous tubercles of corniculi.
