Distribution in India: Andhra Pradesh: (Mamandur, in stream on a hill collected by M.O.P. Iyengar (19. ii.1930). This information is based on a personal communication from S. Ryman, Curator, UPS, and dated 14.iv.2010; Balakrishnan & Chaugule, 1980c, p. 231, however cited Karnataka, Jog Falls as the type locality).
Notes: This species is known only from a single original collection made by Iyengar in 1930. Balakrishnan and Chaugule (1980c) validated the species by providing a detailed description, figures, Latin diagnosis and a holotype. Necchi & Vis (2012) treated it as a doubtful species in their monograph of the genus Kumanoa .
