Laena lianhua sp. n.

Type material. Holotype: ♁, China, N Jiangxi, 15 km SE Jiujiang, Lianhua Forest Park , 30.V.–6.VI.2004, leg. J. Turna, SMNS (antennae and legs partly broken).

Description. Body length 5.8 mm, dorsal surface dark brown without metallic reflection. Eyes not prominent. Pronotum cordiform, widest across anterior third, posterior margin only somewhat narrower than the anterior one; with separated large punctures, distance 1–3 puncture diameters, most punctures with long erect setae; surface convex and shining, disc basally with weak impression; lateral margins not beaded; posterior corners rounded; prothoracic hypomera with similar punctures as on pronotum, but without visible setation. Elytra ovate with rows of punctures in weak striae, punctures of rows of similar size as punctures on pronotum, punctures with long erect setae; intervals with a few punctures without setae, interval 9 with 3 indistinct setiferous pores, internal intervals feebly convex, external intervals distinctly convex; surface shining. Apex of elytra not prolonged. All femora with small but distinct teeth. Tibiae in males simple, without peculiarities.Apicale of aedeagus long and narrow triangular with acute apex, see Fig. 14 .

Diagnosis. L. lianhua sp. n. shares with L. hlavaci Schawaller, 2008 also from Jiangxi the armature of the femora, the dorsal erect setation, and the unbeaded lateral margins of the pronotum, but in L. lianhua sp. n. the elytra are broader, the pronotum is also broader with denser punctation, and the apicale of the aedeagus is longer and narrower.

Etymology. Named after the Lianhua Forest Park, where the holotype was collected.
