Notes. (1) Walker (1862) described the species based on a female but without the number of specimens being mentioned. In order to stabilise the nomenclature, the syntype specimen deposited in the type collection of the OUMNH is hereby designated as the lectotype. (2) The male genitalia of the species slightly vary in the length of the dorsal part of the valva and the distal saccular process as well.
Diagnosis. The forewing length is 13.5–15.5 mm in males and 15.0– 17.5 mm in females. The male genitalia structure of L. leucanioides is most similar to L. diehli and the detailed comparison is provided below under the diagnosis of this species.
Distribution. The species is reliably known from Malaysia (Borneo Island and Malay Peninsula) ( Holloway 2001; Bucsek 2012), Singapore, Thailand ( Černý & Pinratana 2009, partim.), Cambodia, Vietnam and central and southern Laos. The records from northern Laos ( Kishida 2020), southern Myanmar ( Hampson 1900; Holloway 2001) and south-western China (Yunnan) ( Fang 2000) require clarification and may belong to L. witti . The record from Sumatra ( Holloway 2001) belongs to either L. diehli or L. inusitata or L. lampunga . The records from the Philippines without islands being specified ( Bucsek 2012; Kishida 2020) belong to either L. leptivalva or one of the three species of Philippinithosia . The records from Java ( Bucsek 2012) and Xizang, China ( Fang 2000) require further clarification as no material available was found during the current study.
