Leucophenga hirudinis Huang & Chen , sp. nov.
( Figs 3 View FIGURE 3 D, 6G, 6H, 9C, 12G, 12H, 27)
Diagnosis. This species is very similar to L. euryphylla sp. nov. in the abdominal tergites patterns ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 C), but can be distinguished from the latter by having the aedeagus basally sturdy, mostly slender and curved, leech-like ( Fig. 27 View FIGURE 27 D).
Description. Ocellar triangle dark brown, with ca. 3–6 setae above ocellar setae. Frons yellowish brown. Pedicel yellow, first flagellomere yellowish brown. Clypeus brown to dark brown. Mesonotum medially brownish yellow, with 1 longitudinal stripe and 2 brown patches, laterally brown ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 G). Postpronotal lobe yellowish brown. Acrostichal setulae in ca. 14–15 irregular rows ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 G). Scutellum mostly brownish yellow, brown along margin, pale at tip ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 G). Katepisternum and meron mostly yellow, with small brownish patch on meron ( Fig. View FIGURE 6
6H). Wing ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 D): Costal vein between R2+3 and R4+5 distally with ca. 8–9 peg-like spinules on ventral surface. Abdominal tergites brown to dark brown ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 C); second yellow medially and sublaterally; third with a pair of large, yellow patches submedially on anterior margin; fourth and fifth each with 2 pairs of yellow patches submedially; sixth with a M-shaped yellow patch. Male terminalia: Epandrium with ca. 21 setae near dorsal margin to ventral corner per side ( Fig. 27 View FIGURE 27 A). Hypandrium with 1 sensillum ( Fig. 27 View FIGURE 27 B). Paramere basally sharp, distally broadened, with ca. 7 sensilla and pubescence ( Fig. 27 View FIGURE 27 C).
