Limnogonus (Limnogonus) recurvus Drake & Harris, 1930 View in CoL
Geographical distribution: Brazil and Bolivia.
Distribution in Brazil: North, Central-West, and Southeast regions (PA, MT, RO, MG) ( Drake & Harris 1930; Kuitert 1942; Nieser 1970c; Sampaio & Py-Daniel 1993; Nieser & Melo 1997).
Comments: Described from “Chapada, Brazil,” but in this case Drake and Harris (1930) provided the collector’s name “H. H. Smith.” See discussion under L. (L.) profugus .
Neogerris Matsumura, 1913 (6 species)
Comments: Variations in pronotal length caused specimens of Neogerris lotus (White, 1879) and N. lubricus (White, 1879) to be wrongly identified as N. celeris ( Drake & Harris, 1934) in the literature. Because of this fact, Nieser (1994) restricted the geographical distribution of N. celeris to its type-locality in Paraguay, and records from Brazil are not considered.
