Type material. Holotype ♂: CHINA: Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region: Fangchenggang City, Fangcheng District , Nasuo Town (21°45′50.84″N, 108°03′45.76″E), 867 m a.s.l., 10.XII.2020, leg. Zegang Feng. GoogleMaps

Paratype: 1 ♀, same data as holotype GoogleMaps .

Etymology. This specific name is derived from the Latin word “ brevis ”, referring to the short tegular sheet of the male palpal bulb; adjective.

Diagnosis. This new species can be recognized by: 1) the extremely strongly built leg I (compare Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 with Figs 5 View FIGURE 5 , 7 View FIGURE 7 ); 2) the acicular shaped embolus (compare Fig. 3C View FIGURE 3 with Figs 6B View FIGURE 6 , 8B View FIGURE 8 ); 3) the short TS (compare Fig. 3A View FIGURE 3 with Figs 6A View FIGURE 6 , 8B View FIGURE 8 ); 4) the small copulatory openings located at the anterior of the epigynal plate (compare Fig. 4A View FIGURE 4 with Fig. 8E View FIGURE 8 ); and 5) the copulatory ducts and connecting tubes presenting as Y-shape ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 ).

Remark. The left and right legs of the holotype are clearly different, so both their measurements are presented below.

Description. Male (holotype): total length 3.08, carapace 1.52 long, 1.36 wide; abdomen 1.56 long, 1.10 wide. Carapace nearly round, smooth, reddish-brown, with black marginal bands. Abdomen black, with large smooth scutum covering almost entire dorsum, with thin, light-colored longitudinal stripe at anterior half of dorsal scutum. Transverse band of white hairs anterior to anal tubercle. Sternum yellow, without pattern. Labium and endites same color as sternum. Abdomen venter with slightly lighter color than sternum, two rows of brown tiny sclerites and short, narrow longitudinal black stripe in front of spinnerets. Leg I dark brown, extremely strong, legs II–IV yellow.

Palp as in Figs 3A–D View FIGURE 3 . FA raised, located at middle part. Tibia with round vTA, small and tooth-shaped RTA, and small rDTA with tip curved towards prolateral side. Sperm duct distinct, wide, U-shaped, occupying about 1/3 length of tegulum. Tegulum oval, tegular apophysis small, triangular. TS short, slightly transparent, originating at anterior of tegulum, near base of embolus, extending posteriorly; with small apophysis towards retrolaterally at base. Embolus base nearly triangular, with acicular tip bending retrolaterally. Conductor absent.

Female (paratype): total length 3.40, carapace 1.50 long, 1.32 wide; abdomen 1.90 long, 1.11 wide. Carapace nearly round, yellow centrally, smooth, with black marginal bands. Fovea dark red, short. Radial striae from fovea indistinct. EAW 0.49, CRW 0.70, EAW/CRW 0.70. CRW/CW 0.53. MOA 0.24 long, anterior width 0.23, posterior width 0.27. CH 0.13, CH /AME 1.30. Abdomen black, smooth, without dorsal scutum. Transverse band of white hairs anterior to anal tubercle. Sternum yellow, without pattern. Labium and endites same color as sternum. Abdomen venter gray, with dark ring surrounding spinnerets. Leg I dark brown, extremely strong, legs II–IV yellow.

Epigyne as in Figs 4A–B View FIGURE 4 . Epigynal plate weakly sclerotized. Copulatory openings small, round, located anteriorly, far apart ( Fig. 5E View FIGURE 5 ). Copulatory ducts thin, curved at end. Connecting tubes thicker than copulatory ducts, together with copulatory ducts forming a Y-shape. Glandular appendages short, finger-shaped. Bursae long, oval, transparent. Spermathecae small, oval, separated about 0.7 times spermathecae width. Fertilization ducts located on posterior margin of spermathecae.
