(Figs. 1,3; Photo 1)
Material examined: Two females labeled: Vietnam Hoahbin Pro./ Maichau 1010m / N 20°44,52, E 104°56,37 / 27 IV 2012, M.L.Pham // CEHI. This locality corresponds to the locus typicus. One male: Vietnam, Vinphuc / Tamdao 1200m / N 21°27’, E 109°39’ / 18 V 2012, M.L.Pham// CEHI. One male: China Hainan Isl. / Baisha, Waheling Mt./ 19,0 9 N, 109, 20 E / 25 IV-8 V 0 8 S.Carlo // CEHI.
Diagnosis. The type species is characterized by a trisinuate, transverse sulcus on the elevated, smooth posterior lobe of the pronotum, the rounded anterolateral angles of the pronotum, a pair of small tubercles at the base of a deep median depression of anterior pronotal lobe and by the long and slender antennae. Measurements: Length 3.50mm (female holotype), ratio length of antennae / width of head 2.52 (sec. description, however measurements of the original figure =1.70 which seems more reasonable); 3.60mm (male from Hainan Jianfengling), ratio l/ w 1.94; 3.80mm (females from Hoahbin), ratio l/ w 1.85; 4.15 (male from Tamdao), ratio l/ w 2.0; 3.9mm (male Hainan, Waheling), ratio l/ w 1.93.
Measurements given by Usinger & Matsuda are partly misleading, as obviously two scales were used for body stuctures (e.g. p. 118): width of head>23<compared to width of abdomen across tergite V>26<or VI>18.5<shows, that the latter should be of double size as may easily be recognized from Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 3 .
Distribution: So far only recorded from Vietnam ( Usinger & Matsuda 1959, Kormilev & Froeschner 1987, Pham et al. 2011), Laos ( Kormilev, 1972- species status to be verified), and China Hainan Island (Yan et al. 2011).
