3.2. Marlierea involucrata (O.Berg) Niedenzu (1893: 77) View in CoL . Rubachia involucrata O. Berg (1857: 29) . Type:— BRAZIL. Rio de Janeiro, unknown locality, unknown date, Sellow s.n. (syntype B [destroyed]).

The two species above were treated by Santos et al. (2020), who suggested that they have morphological affinity with Pliniinae . Nevertheless, type specimens are still missing (probably destroyed at B herbarium; Stafleu & Cowan 1985), no confirmed congruent material was found in either case, and the original descriptions do not allow reliable generic placement. Thus, their positioning as incertae sedis is maintained here.
