ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1861e: 19 (key), 30 (description).
TYPE LOCALITY: “ in agro parmensi [ Parmese territory ( Italy)]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: not found in this study.
CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Buquetia musca Robineau-Desvoidy, 1847 ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 192, O’Hara et al. 2020: 297).
REMARKS: Rondani (1861e: 30) described both sexes of Masicera setifacies without specifying the exact number of specimens and not giving a range of lengths, treating it within the subgenus Ceromasia Rondani, 1856 , which is now considered as a valid genus ( O’Hara et al. 2011: 50). We were unable to locate any type material of this nominal species in our study.
