Bordoni, 2003a: 62 ( Lepidophallus ; Type locality: China, S-Sichuan, road Xichang-Yunyuan pass 15 km SW Pingchuan); Bordoni, 2007b: 70 (catalog); Bordoni, 2008: 58 ( Megalinus ; species list of Megalinus ).

Type material: male, with labels as follows: “ HOLOTYPUS, Lepidophallus , mirus sp. n., Bordoni det. 2002” / “Ch-S ' Sichuan,' 26-27. VI., road ' Xichang-Yanyuan ,' 1998, pass 15km SW PINGCHUAN, '27.33N, 101.49E,' oea 3200m, Jaroslav Turna leg.” ( NMW) .

Distribution. China (Sichuan).

Remarks. This species could be distinguished from its congeners by: 1) body dark brown, with light brown antennae and legs; 2) punctures on pronotum larger than those on head; 3) admedian row consisting of 10–12 punctures; lateral row, curvedly arranged, of 14–18 punctures; 4) mesoscutellum covered with polygonal reticulum; 5) basal impression of tergites III–VII impunctate, but bearing distinct isodiameter mesh; 6) paired linear rows of black spines at side of inner sac.
