= Grammitis moniliformis (Lag. ex Sw.) Proctor, Brit. Fern Gaz. View in CoL 9: 219. 1965.
Range: —Greater Antilles, southern Mexico to Panama, Colombia to Venezuela and Bolivia (CO, LP), southeastern Brazil.
Ecology: —Very common; terrestrial and in rock crevices in paramos, epiphytic in wet evergreen forests; (2000) 2500–4100 m.
Notes: —Four varieties were recognized by Lehnert (2010, 2013), and var. moniliformis is by far the commonest and most widespread. M. moniliformis is most similar, and related, to M. flabelliformis and M. paradoxa , which see for further discussion.
