Description, Female ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 ). Fore wing length 9.78mm.

Head. Mandible densely covered with long hairs; MLW 02.02; MWW 02.03; dorsal tooth in front view projected upwards, much longer than ventral tooth. Clypeus very flattened, centrally concave margin; CHW 3.14; MSM 0.27; apical area medially concave, laterally with distinct triangular lobes, its margin very sharp, raised. Antenna with 23 flagellomeres; flagellum uniform; apex of apical flagellomere as wide as base, not distinctly tapered. Supra-antennal area shiny, scarcely punctate, not striate near antennal sockets, median line (coronal suture) distinct, ventrally to ocelli distinctly concave. Occipital carina fading out before reaching the hypostomal carina. Gena moderately pilose, wide and swollen.

Mesosoma . Pronotum shiny, impunctate, pilose only at the anterior margin, with distinct wrinkles at ventral half of posterior margin; epomia strong, incomplete, short, ending far from dorsal margin of pronotum, after diverging from pronotal collar, approximately straight. Mesoscutum ovoid, 1.43 × as long as wide, scarcely pilose, shiny; notaulus reaching about 0.70 of mesoscutum length, deeply impressed, with surface not wrinkled. Mesopleuron minutely punctate, densely covered with long hairs; scuto-scutellar groove moderately deep, without wrinkles; epicnemial carina reaching about 0.8 of distance to subalar ridge; sternaulus complete, strong, crenulate, somewhat sinuous; mesopleural suture without wrinkles; mesosternum without wrinkles. Transverse sulcus at base of propodeum moderately wide, about 0.46 × as long as anterior area of propodeum, not wrinkled; metapleuron punctate, without transverse wrinkles, pilose; juxtacoxal carina absent. Fore tibia distinctly swollen. Mesal lobe of t4 with a distinct cluster of stout bristles. Hind coxa finely punctate and pilose.

Propodeum. 1.30 × as long as wide, shiny, glabrous; spiracle elongate, SWL 2.41; anterior transverse carina arched. Propodeal wrinkles strong, complete, anteriorly closer than centrally and posteriorly; posterior transverse carina absent.

Wings. Fore wing vein 1-Rs+M distinctly sinuous, with bulla placed on basally; crossvein 1m-cu more curved; 1M+Rs anteriorly straight, posteriorly slightly curved; vein 2Cua 0.57× as long as crossvein 2cu-a; bulla of crossvein 2m-cu placed on midlength; cell 1+2Rs (areolet) of moderate size, APH 0.106, quadratic, much wider than high, AHW 1.39; crossvein 3r-m fully spectral; vein 3-M much shorter than 2-M; 4-Rs slightly sinuous; 4-M straight. Hind wing vein 1-M forming obtuse angle with vein Cua; vein 2-Rs straight; HW1C 0.79; vein Cub distinctly curved, forming distinctly obtuse angle with vein Cua; vein 2-1A close, but not reaching posterior wing margin.

Metasoma. First tergite very long, about 1.08 × as long T2, shiny, dorsally scarcely pilose, laterally pilose; T1LW 2.83; T1WW 1.80; spiracle of T1 slightly beyond middle; ventro lateral carina absent; thyridium longer than wide; T2–T8 somewhat coriarious, dorsally scarcely pilose, laterally with long hairs; mostly of sternites pilose. T2LW 1.47; T2WW 1.39. OST 1.39; ovipositor long, stout, cylindric, straight; dorsal valve with five ridges, ventral valve without ridges; apical teeth progressively more closely spaced.

Color. Head and mesosoma black and yellowish to whitish, metasoma mostly orange. Head. black; clypeus, small mark at mid region at mandible, mouthparts (except last segments of labial and maxillary palpus infuscate) ( Fig. 7 View FIGURES 7–8 ), supra-clypeal area and orbital band, whitish; f7–10 entirely white, f11–12 almost entirely white. Mesosoma mostly black. Stripes at colar pronotal and apical margin of pronotum, propleuron, circular spot on mesoscutum, scutellar carina, scutellum, axillar carina, tegula, subalar ridge, central mark on mesopleuron, mostly of metapleuron and long lateral spots at propodeum ( Fig. 8 View FIGURES 7–8 ), whitish; ventral face of fore coxa, ventral spot at anterior region of mid coxa, dorsal spot at anterior region of hind coxa, ventral region of fore first trochanter, whitish; ventral region of fore and mid femur, all tibia, yellowish; most of mid and hind coxa, mid and hind trochanters and hind femur, orange; hind tibia yellowish but infuscate apically; all tarsi yellow. T1 black with posterior whitish stripe and anterior lateral orange spots; anterior margin of T2 blackwish. Sternitus basal and apical with whitish stripes.

Male. Unknown.

Distribution. Angra dos Reis, RJ, Brazil.

Host. Unknown.

Etymology. Named in honor and acknowledgement of a Brazilian hymenopterist who worked with Cryptinae in the 90s: Maria Clarete Gonçalves. Her research was of great value to this work.

Variation. Fore wing 8.7–12.2mm. Sometimes, the white spot on the mandible is represented only with small white spot. Antenna with 23–24 flagellomeres; sometimes small spot at mesosternum is present only ventrally; two specimens have the dorsal spot of hind coxa extending the entire length; one specimen has two posterior black spots on T2 .

Comments. Very similar to M. euryoikos Santos, 2013 both in general morphology and color patterns, but different in the following characteristics: MWW 02.03 (vs. MWW 0.24); epomia strong and approximately straight (vs. epomia weak and distinctly curved); SWL 2.41 (vs. 5.25); cell 1+2Rs (areolete) of moderate size, APH 0.106, quadratic, much wider than high (vs. cell 1+2Rs small, APH 0.49, pentagonal, about as high as wide); vein 3-M much shorter than 2-M (vs. vein 3-M about as long as 2-M); first tergite very long, about 1.08 × as long T2 (vs. first tergite short, about 0.29 × as long as T2–8).
