Description of Metschnikowia rancensis View in CoL SINF-1Y

Cells are ellipsoidal with a polar budding pattern. Colonies are cream-colored and smooth with an entire margin after incubation at 25°C for 3 days on YMA. Based on the results of the API 20C AUX test, strain SINF-1Y is positive for Glycerol, 2-Keto-D-Gluconate, Adonitol, Xylitol, D-Sorbitol, N -Acetyl-D-Glucosamine, D-Cellobiose, D-Maltose, D-Saccharose, D-Trehalose, and D-Melezitose; weakly positive for D-Xylose; and negative for L-Arabinose, D-Galactose, Inositol, α -Methyl-D-Gluco- side, D-Lactose, and D-Raffinose.

Strain SINF-1Y (KACC 410756) was isolated from flower of Pseudocydonia sinensis in Goseong-gun, South Gyeongsang, Republic of Korea.
