The record of a male C. radiola from Port of Spain, 12 Jul 1927, in Williams and Bell (1931) was overlooked in Cock (2011). Callimormus radiola radiola occurs in the Guianas and Venezuela, so it might be expected to occur in Trinidad. However, given that there have been no further records, and Williams and Bell (1931) considered C. filata to be a synonym of C. radiola , when actually it is a synonym of C. alsimo ( Evans 1955, Mielke 2004), their record is likely to represent C. alsimo .

Since no specimens of M. simplicissima have subsequently been confirmed from Trinidad, it is suggested here to be a misidentification, following the treatment by Godman and Salvin (1893 –1901) in which the adult and male genitalia of Methionopsis ina are illustrated as Mnasitheus simplicissima ( Evans 1955) .
