Type locality: Sikkim, Calcutta [Kolkata]

Distribution. Indian records: Sikkim, Calcutta ( Hampson 1899c). Global records: Vietnam: Borneo ( Hampson 1918b), Tonkin ( de Joannis 1930).

Remark: Monoctenocera was established by Hampson (1899c: 310) as subgenus of Polyocha Zeller, 1848a . The single included nominal species was brachiella Hampson (1899c: 311) , a nomen nudum later made available in the combination Monoctenocera brachiella Hampson in Ragonot & Hampson, 1901, when Monoctenocera was raised to genus level ( Fletcher & Nye 1984).
