Type species: Galumnella paradoxa Berlese, 1916 (a), p. 58
Body surface foveolate, often fully or partially heavily granulate/rugose or reticulate. Rostrum narrowly or broadly rounded or pointed. Lamellar lines present, sublamellar lines absent or present, long, thin or thickened, parallel, curving backwards at ventral end. Rostral setae medial (rarely lateral) to lamellar lines. Lamellar setae medial or lateral to lamellar lines. Bothridial setae setiform and dilated unilaterally in median parts, rarely with widened heads distally. Postanal porose area present. Notogastral setae represented by 10 pairs of microsetae or short, setiform, thin setae. Notogaster without porose areas or saccules. With one pair of dorsolateral pores. Median pore absent or present in females and males, undivided. Epimeral neotrichy absent, rarely present. Adanal lyrifissures distanced from anal aperture, preanal. Leg tarsi with one, two or three claws.
