Munida sculpta has been reported from the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico in depths of 179 to 284 m ( Benedict 1902; Chace 1942). The specimens available for analysis were collected in the Gulf of Mexico in depths from 91 to 779 m. Five specimens were in the collections for M. sculpta : two males and three females. There was one ovigerous female (CW = 7.3 mm, 352 eggs, average egg diameter is 0.36 mm); measurements were not taken from the remaining specimens.
