Anepisternum yellowish to brownish. Preepisternum brownish. Scutellum brownish, with 4 long setae. Laterotergite brownish. Mediotergite brownish, bare. Wing. Length 2.8–3.1 mm. Wing hyaline. Sc ending in R1 near, slightly proximad or slightly distad of middle of small cell, Sc1 missing. Apical part of Sc bearing 1–12 small setae. Small cell 1– 2 x as long as wide. Cu fork distinctly distal to M fork. M ratios: 0.89–0.96, 1.21–1.27. Cu ratios: 0.92–0.99, 1.50–1.64. Small setae: M petiole: 0; M1: 0; M2: 0; Cu petiole: 0; Cu1: 0; Cu2: 0. Halter pale yellowish, apex sometimes brownish. Legs. Coxae yellow, femora yellow, tibiae and tarsi brownish to brown. Coxa 2 without spur. Tergal part with two pairs of combs. Tergal lateral appendage relatively small and narrow, about 6x as long as wide, slightly curved, with few basal setae and some flattened apical setae ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 C). Sternal submedian filament missing. Gonostylus short and wide, at about 3x as long as wide, with about 5 subapical teeth, short curved spur with 1 strong apical tooth, and small membranous lateral lobe less than 1/3 of length of main branch of gonostylus ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 D). Aedeagus with 2 lateral lobes extending slightly beyond its apex ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 E). Female. Wing length 3.2–4.0 mm. Thorax as that in ♂. Abdomen brownish. Leg ratios: bt1:t1 = 0.80–0.82, bt2:t2 = 0.60–67, bt3:t3 = 0.51–0.56. Terminalia yellowish.
Discussion. Mycomya ducula is a small species, which differs from the other species of the subgenus Mycomyopsis in the narrow shape and sparse setosity of the tergal lateral appendage ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 C), the lack of sternal submedian filaments ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 B) and in having a short, wide gonostylus with a distinct spur ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 D). Etymology. The species name is a noun in apposition and refers to the genus of the imperial pigeons, Ducula Hodgson.
