Tergal part with two pairs of combs. Outer tergal combs with about 9 spines, base of outer combs relatively deeply bilobed. Inner tergal combs with about 8–9 slightly flattened spines. Tergal lateral appendage more than 4x as long as wide, its setose basal part at least 3x as wide as its long, narrow apical part bearing some slightly flattened, curved apical setae ( Fig. 13 View FIGURE 13 C). Sternal submedian filament short, slightly curved, not reaching apex of sternal synsclerite. Gonostylus at least 4x as long as wide, apical part much wider, with 3 subapical teeth, 1 strong seta, basal part of gonostylus with a very long, strong basal spur and with small lateral membranous lobe about 1/3 of length of main branch of gonotylus ( Fig.13 View FIGURE 13 D). Spur with 2 small dark apical teeth and 2–3 very long setae, about as long as the spur. Aedeagus with two rounded lobes.
Discussion. The male hypopygium of M. pitta resembles that of M. naja sp. n, but differs from it e.g. in the almost straight shape of the tergal lateral appendage ( Fig. 13 View FIGURE 13 C), and in having a very short sternal submedian filament ( Fig. 13 View FIGURE 13 B). The structure of the gonostylus of M. pitta is diagnostic in having a very small membranous lateral lobe, and a very strong spur with apical teeth and a few very long apical setae ( Fig. 13 View FIGURE 13 D).
Etymology. The species name is a noun in apposition and refers to the elusive forest birds of the passerine genus Pitta Viellot.
Mycomya sanar sp. n. Figs. 14 View FIGURE 14 A–F

M ratios: 0.83–0.97, 1.09– 1.27. Cu ratios: 0.85–1.06, 1.40–189. Small setae: M petiole: 0; M1: 0; M2: 0; Cu petiole: 0; Cu1: 0; Cu2: 0. Halter yellowish. Legs. Coxae yellow to yellowish, femora yellow, tibiae and tarsi brownish to brown. Coxa 2 without spur. Leg ratios: bt1:t1 = 0.82–0.86, bt2:t2 = 0.67–0.68, bt3:t3 = 0.55–0.56. Abdomen. Brownish to brown. Hypopygium. Figs. 14 View FIGURE 14 A–F: yellowish. Tergal part with two pairs of combs. Outer combs widely separated from each other, both with 7–8 spines. Inner tergal combs with broad darker and lighter spines. Tergal lateral appendage long, slender, about 7x as long as wide and strongly curved, with one group of basal and another group of long, flattened, curved apical setae ( Fig. 14 View FIGURE 14 D). Sternal submedian filament missing. Gonostylus about 4x as long as wide, apically wider, with 1 strong dark spine in its middle part, 3 subapical teeth and small membranous lateral lobe, about 1/3 of length of main branch of gonostylus ( Fig 4 View FIGURE 4 E). Aedeagus wide, setose with two narrow, dark lobes ( Fig. 14 View FIGURE 14 F). Female. Wing length 4.8 mm. Thorax yellow with brown median stripe on scutum and brown posterior part of mediotergite. Abdomen brown. Leg ratios: bt1:t1 = 0.81, bt2:t2 = 0.66, bt3:t3 = 0.56. Terminalia yellow.
Discussion. The diagnostic characters of the male hypoppygium of M. sanar include the long, narrow and strongly curved tergal lateral appendage having setae only on its basal and apical part ( Fig. 14 View FIGURE 14 D), the lack of sternal submedian filament ( Fig. 14 View FIGURE 14 B), and the short, wide gonostylus with a small membranous lateral lobe ( Fig. 14 View FIGURE 14 E). Etymology. The species name is a noun in apposition and refers to the name of the Himalayan black bear in the Nepali language.

Length of 1st flagellomere about 4x, 2nd flagellomere 2.5 x, its width. Thorax. Pronotum yellow, with 3–4 long setae. Scutum brownish with 3 brownish, fused, longitudinal stripes, anterolateral corners yellow. Anepisternum and preepisternum brownish. Scutellum brownish, with 4 long setae. Laterotergite brownish. Mediotergite brownish, bare. Wing. Length 4.0 mm. Wing hyaline. Sc ending in R1 slightly proximad of middle of small cell, Sc1 missing. Apical part of Sc bearing 7 macrotrichia. Small cell about twice as long as wide. Cu fork distal to M fork. M ratios: 1.07, 1.44. Cu ratios: 0.93, 1.47. Macrotrichia: M petiole: 0; M1: 0; M2: 0; Cu petiole: 0; Cu1: 0; Cu2: 0. Halter yellowish, apex brownish. Legs. Coxae and femora yellow, tibiae and tarsi brownish. Coxa 2 without spur. Leg ratios: bt1:t1 = 0.79, bt2:t2 = 0.68, bt3:t3 =?. Abdomen. Brownish. Hypopygium. Figs. 15 View FIGURE 15 A–E: yellow. Tergal part with two pairs of combs. Outer combs indistinct and rudimentary, both with only 3–4 spines, inner combs widely separated from each other, both with about 12 spines. Tergal lateral appendage with broad, setose basal part about 1.5x as wide as narrow subapical part; a narrow apical part with few long flattened apical setae ( Fig. 15 View FIGURE 15 C). Gonostylus narrow, about 7x as long as wide, with 3 teeth, 1 apical seta and membranous lateral lobe about 2/3 of length of main branch of gonostylus ( Fig. 15 View FIGURE 15 D). Aedeagus with two narrow lateral lobes.
Discussion. Hypopygium of M. unipectinata differs from the other species of the subgenus Mycomyopsis in having only one complete pair of tergal combs as indicated by its Latin name. The other pair of combs is rudimentary and consists only of few spines ( Fig. 15 View FIGURE 15 A). The shape of the tergal lateral appendage is also diagnostic ( Fig. 15 View FIGURE 15 C). The holotype was collected at the hill station of Nuwara Eliya, surrounded by tea-growing country, at the altitude of about 1900 m in January.
