Description. General coloration creamy yellow with orange stripes on crown, pronotum, scutellum and up to middle of forewing. Coronal suture visible only at 1/3 of medial length of crown, 2 orange longitudinal stripes on lateral sides of midline. Pronotum with irregular yellow spots near to lateral margins, and two orange longitudinal stripes, joined to stripes of crown. Lateral triangle and midline of scutellum with yellowish orange stripes, scutellar suture prominent. Forewing with dark brown spot on lateral margins, and orange stripes from base to before middle part; 2nd and 4th apical cells with small dark brown spots; hindwing hyaline. Face elongate, shiny whitish, with brownish streaks on frontoclypeus; lora and anteclypeus whitish yellow, not clearly distinguishable, gena white; eyes brown. Leg and body venter whitish yellow. Second sternal apodeme in male with posterior lobes small, round apically, extended beyond to middle of 3rd sternite.
Male genitalia. Pygofer lobe broad basally, rounded apically with numerous setae on near to posterior margin. Subgenital plate alike with other species; style long, apex widened and truncate; preapical lobe large.Aedeagal shaft long and straight, with pair of process arising from basolateral part of shaft, shaft with broadened base and end with 2 sharp apices in lateral view; gonopore apical.
Length. Males 2.9−3.2 mm, females 2.9−3.2 mm.
Material examined: Korea, Chungbuk Province: 1 male, Cheondeunsan, 14.V.2016 ; Gangwon Province: 1 male, Unduryeong, 22.VIII.2016 ; 2 males, Deokgasan, 20.VIII.2016; Gyeongbuk Province: 3 males & 3 females, KNU campus, Daegu City, on Acer sp., 18.VIII.2016 , Y.J. Kwon; 11 males & 16 females, Gyeongu City, 27.X.1984; Gyeongnam Province: 1 male & 3 females, Samnam- myeon, 24.V.1980, all same collector.
Distribution. Korea (new record: Central, South).
Host plant. Acer sp. (observed), Rhododendron sp. ( Dworakowska, 1993).
Remarks. This species was illustrated partially without any description by Dworakowska (1980) based on Japanese type specimens. Here, we report this species from Korea for the first time, providing detailed illustrations and description as well as a new record.
